Carnaval Lab
Breaking molds in Biogeography
Prospective Students
We welcome students and researchers who are excited about science, motivated to work hard, and who have a positive attitude. Lab members are expected to be able to work independently, collaborate with others cohesively, and think critically about their own projects.
Our lab focuses on the processes that shape biodiversity and on patterns of evolution of tropical fauna. Dr. Carnaval’s work has been focused in the biodiversity hotspot of the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest, but lab members keep convincing her to explore other biomes. Please read through our welcome page as well as our ongoing projects to get a better idea of our research scope prior to inquiries. New ideas within the realm of our current research are encouraged.
If you are interested in joining the lab, send an email with your CV and a short description of your research experience and interests to Dr. Ana Carnaval at acarnaval@ccny.cuny.edu.
